MY NEW RED SWEATSHIRT

Dad bought me
a sweatshirt
when we went
to the game.
It's warm
and it's red
and has
the team's name.

I wore it to school.
I wore it to play.
For a week I wore it
everyday.

Mom said, "This
needs washing,
it's started to stink."
Now my socks
and my undies
are all colored
PINK!

There is still time to enter your name in the drawing for a copy of GUESS WHO'S IN THE DESERT, Chaline Profiri's new rhyming riddle book about the desert.

  1. Very fun! You'd think we would learn. I just did this a couple of weeks ago with new jeans! Now I have some 'bluish' clothes!

  2. Hey, Linda,
I just got a new U of Arizona sweatshirt. I haven't washed it yet. So, I'm washing it alone, in cold water, probably with some salt the first time. But I have done this at least once in my life.

  3. Now here is a small thought on the details. I need to change "the team's name" to "our team's name." this way the poem will show the loving relationship between child and Dad. Every word in a poem is important.

  4. Joy,
This was funny because so many people can relate.

  5. I've put things that faded with our underwear and everyone's underwear turned pink!

Funny! Enjoy your day. Celebrate you. You are a gift.
