Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

THE COLOR PINK

"Pink," she said.
With the softness of clouds
the fragrance of sweet peas,
the taste of warm watermelon.

Pink, the kindest of colors,
a flamingo dunking
to grasp a shrimp,

or the almost white
of galahs.

Pink is forgiveness
in soothing tones,
the soft nap of baby's blanket.

Pink wipes tears
from the cheeks
of the mean reds.

Can you write your own color poem today?  What does the color make you thin of?  what music goes with your color?  Have fun writing your poem.

  2. Joy,
You're amazing. You can even find voice in the colors around you. You have such a good eye and ear. You cast out a willingness to connect with your suroundings. In return, you reel in emotions that feed your poetry.
