Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

THE TURTLE WINS

Slow, slow,
Don't go.
Ease up
on the gas.
Don't go so fast.
Find a hammock.
Take a rest.
Sometimes,
going slow
is best.

In the fable of the tortoise and the hare, it is the slow and steady tortoise who wins the race.  Your poetry challenge for today is to write a poem about stopping to smell the roses.  Have fun writing.

  2. Joy,
    There's a time for slow,
    Medium, or fast.
    Lessons from today
    or those from the past.
