Mountains of them. Waiting to be read and opened again and again. They do make nice music.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01825251724115541708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-25214155805474717322014-01-11T14:28:29.275-08:002014-01-11T14:28:29.275-08:00I certainly hope Rebecca kept all of the Beanie Ba...I certainly hope Rebecca kept all of the Beanie Babies she collected when she was about 10 or 11. Her mother was a single mom and they didn't have a lot of money. So I'm hoping they have lots of money now. The problem with collecting things as an investment is that you have to find someone to sell the stuff to who will pay the big prices, but, what usually happens is a third party gets involved and they want 40%. Think of all the auctioneers who support themselves by selling other peoples' stuff.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01825251724115541708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-7432393332787077462014-01-11T14:28:02.272-08:002014-01-11T14:28:02.272-08:00I certainly hope Rebecca kept all of the Beanie Ba...I certainly hope Rebecca kept all of the Beanie Babies she collected when she was about 10 or 11. I do have a jar of buttons because they remind me of someone I knew growing up. There are lots of frogs in my house, because my husband collects them--not I.

Linda A.Linda A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16517546647672781332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-42232735404512936982014-01-11T07:47:54.099-08:002014-01-11T07:47:54.099-08:00This made me laugh. My friend posted this link about Beanie Babies earlier this week: http://radionowindy.com/1341176/remember-beanie-babies-hope-you-kept-your-because-they-could-make-you-rich/.

When I stumbled upon your poem, I couldn't help but laugh. We have quite a collection of these as well still boxed in a closet somewhere. We have the big beanies and of course the small ones given in McDonald's Happy Meals.

Altogether we have at least 19 or 20 --- and their owners are now well beyond that in years.

Thanks for the chuckle,
CathyCathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08233792477358685156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-84262737866196309822014-01-10T18:32:33.005-08:002014-01-10T18:32:33.005-08:00Oh Jama, I do love all your interesting dishes tha...Oh Jama, I do love all your interesting dishes that is one of the reasons I LOVE visiting your blog.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01825251724115541708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-64647589250619402902014-01-10T18:30:24.000-08:002014-01-10T18:30:24.000-08:00O h, I had forgotten about the Cabbage Patch Kids....O h, I had forgotten about the Cabbage Patch Kids. I do have a set of the trading cards. Do you remember those terrible things? Were they called Garbage Pail Kids? My son collected them and organized all the pairs in a notebook. I also have a whole box of his baseball cards.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01825251724115541708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-64381792033069697282014-01-10T18:26:16.741-08:002014-01-10T18:26:16.741-08:00Nope, Linda,

I love it when friends drop by and I can serve them tea or lunch on my dishes. I think that is why I love visiting Jama Rattigan's blog because she has so many fun dishes,Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01825251724115541708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-52151080489797954132014-01-10T16:48:21.491-08:002014-01-10T16:48:21.491-08:00Amazingly, I have friends who keep a huge collecti...Amazingly, I have friends who keep a huge collection of beanie babies for children who come visit, Joy! They will delight in your poem. I sold a few of my collections last year in my estate sale, but have kept some-one I love is a 'small' collection of old ceramic planters-mostly bright colors, but I have one shelf of small, only white ones. Do you collect beanie babies?Linda Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983144542632353870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4114341568105527452.post-31340624999562884562014-01-10T15:00:11.758-08:002014-01-10T15:00:11.758-08:00I have a cockatoo Beanie - and a stork.
