Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

TOO MANY QUESTIONS

Do bats ever swim in the sea?
Do hummingbirds stop for afternoon tea?
Do butterflies ever talk to a bee?
Do kangaroos ever sit in a tree?
Do snakes ever dance with glee?
Do houseflies ever watch TV?
Does an ostrich ever bump her knee?
Do elephants go to the circus for free?
These are all questions bothering me
and I'm wondering about you.
What do you do
when questions are bothering you?

This is a list poem.  What are some of the questions you ponder?  Can you write your own poem about that.

  1. Hi Joy,
At the public library, there are a couple of flies that hang out at the computer screens. Do you think they're reading Googled things?
