Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

SUN

after two days of rain
shines in dew drops
crystals
reflecting
blue mountains
white clouds
purple finch
and gold finch
at the bird feeder.

It is a beautiful sunny day today.  Everything feels green and growing.  I'm going to take a walk this morning and go out to greet some poetry.  Can you take a walk today to find your own poem?

My friend Linda Andersen has a fun Mother Goose contest and book give away on her blog at A Writer's Playground.  Since today is Mother Goose Day, you might enjoy this.  Who is your favorite Mother Goose character?  Can you write a poem about one character?

  1. I love the washed clean feeling of the poem.

Lucky you, Joy--overnight we had a dusting of snow and today it is bitterly cold and windy. :-(

I'll have to decide which is my favorite Mother Goose character. I think my favorite rhyme is character-less: Hark, hark! The dogs do bark.
    Beggars are coming to town.
Some in rags and some in jags.
    And some in velvet gowns.

I'm glad your weather is delightful. We have had strong winds and cool temps today.

Thanks for sharing the link to my blog post about Mother Goose today.

    1. Linda,
After all you do for me, it seemed a small thing. I do like your Mother Goose Quiz. It is fun. http://lindamartinandersen.wordpress.com/
