This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

This Week

Monday make a plan.
Tuesday walk the path.
Wednesday clean spick-and-span.
Thursday do the math.
Friday play.
Saturday see a matinee.
Sunday pray.
My weeks are filled
with happy days.

Do you have certain days of the week that you do things?  What day do you do your laundry?  Change your sheets?  Have a music lesson?  Shop for groceries?  Do you have a day when you sit down to plan?  What is your favorite day of the week?  Of this week?  Can you write a poem about your favorite day?  Have fun writing.

Free yourself from conformity.  Followers conform, creative people follow their heart.

  1. Joy,
Is it Saturday yet? A matinee sounds delightful!

    1. Yes, doesn't a matinee sound like fun. But, I think this is a dated word. Do kids even know what a matinee is? I'm going to have to check with some of my young buddies.
