Dream Poem

I woke up this morning
from a fanciful dream.
Where I directed a musical
beside a forest stream.

Everyone was singing
a light, happy song,
even the cats and dogs
and the birds sang along.

Everyone was smiling
the skies were full of cheer
the music was so pleasant,
we all paused to hear.

What do you think the folks in my dream were singing about?  What do you think they were wearing?  It did make for a delightful dream.  You should have heard the frogs.  Your challenge for today is to write your own dream poem.  Have fun.

THE BEAR

There is a bear in the forest
with long dark nails.
He has a shabby coat
and a short brown tail.

He digs in the dirt
to eat snails and grubs.
He muches all the blackberries
that he takes off our shrubs.

He stands in the river
catches fish in the steam
and he eats everything
that he's ever seen.

What do you know about bears?  Can you write about a bear for your poem today?
Happy October.

Childhood Sunday

I'm sitting here
down by the stream
watching the water
glitter and gleam

while my imagination
dances and tipples
along with the water's
flowing ripples.

Somewhere a faerie
flutters her wings.
Somewhere an imp
chortles and sings.

Sunday is such
a delightful day
to wile away hours
dreaming away.

I went to another garden store this week and they had more of the faerie gardens.  If you were to design your own little garden for the wee folk, what would you put in it?  Can you write a poem about your garden today?
