THIN CLOUDS

Today, thin clouds gather
over the desert.
Rosy hues grip
their undersides.

A small breeze
pushes the sage brush.
Sand rattles
over the road.

Now I want
to be that stone
at the creek edge
worn smooth by water
and finally
growing moss.

Do you know the adage, A rolling stone gathers no moss?  This poem plays on that theme.  Can you see the pictures?  In writing today's poem try developing a picture in your writing.  Describe the setting.  Remember to use all of your five senses.  Have fun and I hope you'll share your poem with me.

  2. Joy,
This makes me want to spend the day as a rock covered in moss, right beside you!
