BUS RIDE

People cry,
    scream,
        and fuss
whenever I take
     my lion
          on the bus.

He doesn't bring
    his entire pride.
So why can't they share
    a simple bus ride?

They yell,
    they moan,
        they even shout.
They point at the door
     and say, GET OUT!

Do you ever ride the bus?  What crazy characters do you see on your ride?
Planes, buses and trains--we often meet new people when were riding along.  But what if you were to meet an animal, or a robot.  Can you write a poem about who you'd meet?  Have fun writing.

  1. Ha! I think (sorry) I might say "Get out," too, Joy. I would do it politely!

    1. What other animal might cause a fuss on a bus? Isn't that a great name for a collection--FUSS ON A BUS.

    1. When I lived in Santa Monica and would ride my bike along Venice Beach early in the morning, there was a guy who would take his exotic pets walking in the early hours--a boa one day, a spider monkey the next and an ocelot on another. Thanks for giving me an idea for a days of the week poem. I think I even have figured out how to get out of it, for an ending. Oh what fun. I'm so glad you stopped by today.

  3. Joy,
Not a ride you take every day!

  5. I doubt I would tell the lion to get out -- I would jump out the window myself!
