Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

SPRINGTIME

Springtime,
I gather to me
happiness of bird song,
joy of coyote yip,
gladness of green,
and all the greatness
of yellow blooming.
I open my heart wide
to the hope for a bright
and jubilant future--
a fresh and new
beginning.

Use your five senses today to make a list of things you see, hear, smell feel and taste about spring.  Can you use your list to write your own poem?  Have fun.

  3. Hi Joy,
This reflects your poetic adventures: you gather experiences, write about them, and then you open up wide for your readers' delight.
