Words are like birds, they float in the air

Joy Acey, 2017

I wish I was
a hooty owl
sitting in a tree
so I could ask
who-who are you
of everyone
I see.
If you could be any bird, which one would you chose to be?  Does your state have a state bird?  Have you ever thought what it would be like to have a pet bird?  Try writing your own poem today about a bird.  Have fun.

  1. A hummingbird! I think they are my spirit animal - flick, flit, and fly. Great poem and picture, Joy. Always a 'hoot' to visit your blog. =)

    1. One of my favorite birds is the hummingbird, but there aren't any in Hawaii. Can you figure out why? We do have a cute little honey creeper.

  2. I'd want to be a song bird so I could bring joyful songs wherever I went.

    1. Do you ever think about all the free music and entertainment we get from song birds? Thank you for reminding me of my blessings.

    1. Thank you, Jone. There are so many lovely little and huge owls. Check out tomorrows post. I have a crazy chicken. I've been having so much fun lately playing with my art materials. We have a little Hawiian owl called a Pueo here.

  5. Joy, what a fun poem you have for us today. I want to be a cardinal who graces my yard when I need him to be there.
