ROSES

In the breeze
roses dance
   swing, sway
      stagger
         drunk
on spring.

Gosh, I hope your day is going as well as mine.  I woke up this morning full of energy, ready to tackle some projects.  I may get some spring cleaning done today.  I had fun with today's poem and picture.  This is a picture of the roses growing on my fence that I've done some altering to.  I'm trying something new and that is always an exciting thing.  I counted the words in this poem.  There are only 11.  But, I'm happy with this little poem because it presents the idea of being drunk on spring, and that is exactly how I feel today.  Sometimes that is  how nature and flowers effect me.  They make me happy.  Does the happiness come through in the poem?  Can you write your own poem today about your favorite flower?  Have fun.

  1. What a beautiful poem (short, sweet and joyful) for a lovely spring day! Yes, dear Joy, the happiness and intoxication you feel comes through the words AND the flowers. Did you draw the picture or is it a photograph?
I too had very productive day- even posted my W.O.M. poem.
Spring is springing up here, with temperatures going up to 10 degrees C. for Easter.

Thank you sharing this HAPPY HAPPY poem!

    1. Dearest Sister Cory,
I hope all is going well for you, I was reading the weather page in our paper today. We've had .01 inches of rain during the month of March. The last day there was any rain was Mar. 7. We're supposed to get to 83 today. And then I looked at the weather up by you and it was supposed to get to 43! You really must come visit me, though you'd probably die of the heat. Hope you have a happy Easter.

    1. Carol,
I appreciate your letting me know. The drunk on spring was the whole point of the poem and I wasn't sure if it came through. Now I know intelligent minds get it.
