Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

The hummingbird tasted
from the lemon tree
waxy white blossoms--
dessert.

  1. I enjoyed this, Joy, & yesterday's haiku about art. Thanks for your daily "joy"!

  2. Ah, Linda,
Thank you for the comment. On days when I'm really busy--I was having a grand time with my sister in Los Angeles, we found some real finds in the clearance stack at the art store--I write haiku and feel like I'm cheating my readers because the poems are so very short.
My sister and I sat in her spa next to her lemon tree heavy with fruit. I saw a squirrel leaping across the fence to get to and from the tree and one hummingbird kept returning to watch us. I did have a lovely weekend. Hope you did too.
