Welcome
This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

GRATITUDE
In the quiet of the morning
when the sun begins to rise
I stare toward the horizon
and I can't believe my eyes.
The sky is orange, pink and rosy,
colored in the warmest hue.
The world is slowly waking up,
green grass covered all in dew.
Let me share my world with you
and my positive attitude.
Today, I know will be amazing.
I am filled with gratitude.
What are you grateful for? What do you find up-lifting? Can you try writing a poem of thankfulness today? Have fun writing. Have you considered making this a list poem?
We may not know what poetry is, but we recognize it when we see it. Jean L'Anselme

Joy, this is lovely. I feel that there is not enough gratitude in this world. Would you like to add this poem and photo to my new gallery, Winter Wanderings? A look from Hawaii-if so, please combine and add your name and location. Thanks.
