Flea Circus

copyright 2014, Joy Acey

The circus is here
and I'm all agog
to see the clowns
and the flying trapeze.

The world's largest circus
made up of fleas
and they're all performing
on my poor dog.

If you could join the circus, what would you do?  Water elephants, tame lions, juggle?  Would you be a clown, an aerialist, a bareback rider or the ring master?  Can you try writing your own circus poem today?  Have fun.

A Fairy in the Garden

There is a faerie in the garden
I can here her sweet voice sing
as she dines on tea and honey cakes
and juggles small gold rings.

Today is the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen and so I wanted to write about faeries today.  If you had a faerie in your garden, what would she do?  Can you write your own faerie poem today?  Have fun writing.

ORANGE

Toss me.
Furl me.
Spin me.
Twirl me.
Juggle me.
Dance.
Roll me
through the streets
looking for romance.
Strip me.
Peel me.
Eat my sections.
I'm a citrusy
orange confection.

I couldn't think of anything to write about this morning and so I picked the first thing that came to hand--An orange.  And then ideas started to dance through my head.  Put your hand out.  Turn around and what is the first thing you can touch?
Can you write a poem about that?  Happy Saturday and have fun writing.
