Food

A young panda
eats bamboo leaves
to get the moisture
that it needs.

A young koala
likes eating
sweet gum leaves
as it climbs
among the trees.

A young joey
in his mother's pouch
drinks her milk
and doesn't come out.

Me, I'm a kid
as you can see
and I like eating
lots and lots
of pizza,
please.

What is your favorite food?  Can you write a poem about the foods you like to eat?

  1. Joy,
This was fun. I was wondering if you could tell about where you eat, just most of the other stanzas do. How about if the last line was removed and replaced with "take out or delivery." If that doesn't do it for you, maybe it will give you an idea.

  2. Linda, I like your suggestion. I might use it. I actually was thinking of changing that "please" to "with cheese," but "take-out or delivery" slows the line down even more and I like that. I'm mulling.

  3. Joy,

Glad you liked my suggestion. I meant to right "just like" instead of "just" earlier in my first line. Our brains go faster than our fingers.
