Define Happy

Happy as a
peanut,
an acorn,
a hummingbird,

a grain of sugar
joined with others
spun in heat
to become
cotton candy.

I can't think
of anything happier
than a paper cone
filled with candy floss.

Your poetry challenge for today is to craft your own definition.  Select a word and then write your list poem.  Have fun writing.

  1. Joy,
Your description of cotton candy is delightful, just like the sweet treat. I love how the candy formed from one grain of sugar.

    1. Thanks Linda. Now my favorite part is the candy floss, which is what the Brits call our cotton candy. I had a toy cotton candy machine when I was a little girl. It was wonderful. It is a wonder that I have any teeth left in my mouth with all the terrible things I ate as a kid.
