Iguana Irv

Irv, an iguana
knew he was cool.

He was so hot
he dove in my pool.

He swam a little circle,
He blew a water spout.

Dunked his head down under
and then he climbed right out.

I was going to write about the lizard I pulled out of my swimming pool this morning, but then I remembered swimming with the iguanas when I was visiting the Galapagos Islands.  They really can swim.   So now it is your turn.  Think of an animal that likes to go sky diving, rock climbing, deep sea fishing, play on the playground, run races, or hop scotch.  Pick something you like and write your poem.  Oh, I'm thinking giraffe.  What fun.  See you tomorrow.  Somewhere I have a poem about the zoo animals going to the movies.

    Turtle falling down,
You knew you cannot climb trees!
    Oh! A diving board.
