Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Persona Poem

My Poem

I want a kiss.

A persona poem is a poem that is written in the voice of someone other than yourself. You could write a poem in the voice of your bed, a tree, your desk, or an animal.  A spoon, your pencil, the goldfish in the bowl.  What would your bed say to you?  What would it want someone to know?  If a tree. could write a poem, what would it say?  So, the task for today is to write a persona poem, and to make it easy try this one in free verse.  Remember to use your senses.
I've been having fun with the person poems.

Gimme a banana.
