One cupcake, a delight.
Two cupcakes, pink and white.
Three cupcakes, for you and me,
Four cupcakes, are just enough.
Five cupcakes, now I'm stuffed.
Can you guess what I've been doing this morning while I think about a poem to write? Can you write your own poem about a dessert you like today?
I wrote a poem for children last week titled"Turnaround Farm. You can go to my website at http//:irisinbloom.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this blog.
Thank you. I liked your site too. Your poem would make a good children's picture book.
DeleteCupcakes in honor of Abe Lincoln's birthday? You could put little stovepipe hats on them -- if there are any left by now, that is. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea, Jama. Next year I'll try the stove pipe.
DeleteLoved your post on Edna Lewis. She was head chef at the Fearrington Inn just outside of Chapel Hill, NC for awhile and I got to eat one of her meals. Good memories.
Joy, here's one for you...
ReplyDeleteFive Cupcakes
Five cupcakes on a plate
My favorites and I can't wait.
I whoof them down 1,2,3,4,5
Like they're needed to survive.
Now to work off excess calories
Next time, please pass the peas.
Linda Andersen
Thanks for the clever poem, Linda. The last line had me laughing. Maybe I need to try writing a poem that counts down instead of up.
ReplyDeleteI like your poem.
Joy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment on my poem. I couldn't help but think of a cupcake eating contest image. Glad you enjoyed it. Your poems bring me enjoyment every day.
