HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY

Did you play any good April Fools jokes today?  I tried the oldest one in the world on my husband this morning as we were out on our walk.  I told him his zipper was down, and sure enough, it worked,  He immediately reached for his zipper to check.  I'm so naughty.  It was so much fun. It was the first joke played on him today.

April Fools comes once a year.
But as for jokes, have no fear.
All the teasing is done in fun.
I hope your day is a happy one.

Your challenge for today is to write your own April Fools poem.  What is the best April Fools joke you ever played or had played on you?  I'm going to spend some time working on my own poem.  Maybe by next year, I'll have a really good poem to share with you.  If I'm clever I can make it work as a joke too.
I checked THE POETRY FRIDAY ANTHOLOGY FOR CELEBRATIONS, compiled by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong to see if there was a good April Fools poem in the book published by Pomelo Books.  The joke was on me,  I didn't find one.  Now I get to do some more research.  What fun.

  1. Great picture, Joy. No, no April Fool's joke today, although Mother Nature is supposed to play one on us. After a week of beautiful weather in the 70's, it's supposed to snow tonight! Oops! I'm on spring break, so can't even play a trick or two on my students! Happy April!

    1. Oh, no! Not more snow! Just when you thought you could put away your winter clothes. Gosh, and I'm contemplating getting rid of all my winter wools and knit sweaters, my mittens, gloves and knit scarves.

  2. You look great in orange, Joy! I got your card, and golly--I knew you were downsizing, but not that you were moving to HAWAII. Lucky duck.

Can't wait to see what you're going to do with the net and the alluvium tomorrow! (I typed this last night and then fell asleep before hitting Publish--now it's today!)

    1. Once I get all moved, you'll have to come visit me.
I love what you did with the Progressive Poem.

  3. How about a late April Fool's joke?...Joy, your shirt's on backwards. Or...oh no, your hat doesn't match your shirt. April Fool's. In the Family Circus cartoon today, one child is still trying to pull April Fool's jokes and big sis tattles.

    1. Thanks for these suggestions. I'm collecting quite a few April Fool's jokes. Now all I have to do is wait for next year. I'll be ready.

  4. April Fool's Day came soon after the clock struck 12 while I was at my computer writing-Crash! I wrote about the experience on April 1st. I enjoyed your poem Joy and the orange outfit was eye-catching.
