CHICKEN SONG

The chickens all love
my poetry.
They like to sing
it back to me.
Cock-a-doodle-doo,
cock-a-doodle-doo,
chickens singing
poetry too.

Do you have pets?  Do you ever practice saying your poems to them?  Try writing a nonsense poem today about your pet. Have fun writing.

Sometimes the words get caught in my throat.

    1. Thanks, Rosi,
On my walk this morning I came to the thought that Kauai would be the perfect place for children's illustrator James Ransome because he frequently includes chickens in his illustrations.
Obviously, I'm going to be writing more chicken poems.

    1. Glad you liked this one, Linda. The thought of it gave me a smile. I thought with all the chickens wandering loose on Kauai, this would be the perfect place to learn to count with chickens. The thought is still brewing in my brain. You'd think with all the chickens I'd stumble upon some eggs. I'll let you know when/if I do.
