Bartholomew Buffalo

Bartholomew the Buffalo
liked to have fun
blowing bubbles
with his chewing gum.

He blew 26 pieces
and caused quite a stir.
His bubble, bigger than a building,
burst in his fur.

Isn't "B" a delightful letter?  Beautiful, bountiful, busy, and briany?  Can you write your own "B" poem?  If you take a bubble bath, you might find inspiration, or try eating bologna.

  1. Bologna for sure. Haven't had it for years. YOur wonderful daily poems reminds me that I want to interview you for a guest blog. Haven't forgotten.

  2. Joy,
What an image? Why 26 pieces of gum? One for each letter of the alphabet? Does this bring ideas for other poems? I hope so. Bring them on!

  3. Hi Joy, such a fun poem indeed! I was suddenly reminded of Edward Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinies with his own alphabet poems with children ending up in grisly unspeakable ends - in startling contrast to this poem that you just shared. :)

  4. What a fun idea for a poetry-writing challenge!

  5. Thanks everyone for stopping by. Myra, I do remember Edward Gorey's pictures and poems. Sure wish I could draw as well as he did.
Carol, rustle up the questions for that interview and I'll be happy to answer them.
I've been debating all day over a dinosaur or a dragon for my next letter of the alphabet. I think it will be a dragon simply because that is one less syllable and will be easier to rhyme. We'll see.
Mary, if you take the challenge, I'd love to see your poem. I usually end each daily poem with some kind of challenge.
