Shhhhhhh!
The bats are sleeping
under a log today.
Please be quiet
or they'll fly away.
Yes, there are bats in Peru, in fact when I had things flying in my room at night, I did wonder if it was bats. Of course there wasn't light,so I couldn't see.
These bats blended in with the log so well, that I was practically upon the little creatures before I noticed them. Now there is an idea, can you write a poem today about something you almost didn't notice? Or something that was unexpected for you. You may need to thing about this one for a bit,or try some brain storming.
sweet poem! I am not a fan of bats, though, at least not the ones that would dive bomb our pool when we were kids! :) They are pretty cool creatures, though.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... a poem about something unexpected? I'll have to think on it. Once it smacks me upside the head, I'll put it to paper!
Way to go Donna. Poems are sometimes like that. They come into your head, smack you and then demand that you put pencil to paper and write them down.
DeleteYes, please share your poem once you have something.
Joy,
ReplyDeleteIs each pointed object a bat? It's hard to tell. Did I whisper low enough?
I liked this simple poem. and the picture too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol.
DeleteI've been having a lot of fun with the pictures I took in Peru. Are you getting a vacation from the heat this summer?
Yes, Linda.
ReplyDeleteEach of those little pointed objects is a bat. I needed my flash to get this picture and I was VERY worried that the light would spook the bats and set them all flying. Instead, that front bat just hissed at me. I guess they are used to having their picture taken.
Hey Linda, what do you think picture day at school is like for a young bat?
Now that's a great picture book idea. Like the pun?
