Look what the quail has done
among these prickly pear sticks.
She has laid her eggs there.
Can you count the six?
One, two, three,
four, five, six.

Try writing your own counting poem today or just select one number and write a poem about that.

  1. Tons of dirty plates
    A bazillion dirty glasses
    My sink cannnot be seen
    It's smothered by the masses

    One pair of hands
    One scrubbing sponge
One hour before the guests arrive
    I better take the plunge!

  3. We always joke about how our dog counts to two..."There's one, there's one". Three is a bit trickier for her...."There's one, there's one, hey, is it time to eat?" Maybe there's a poem in there for me to write later!

    1. Yes, please write that poem. I'd love to see it. I love your dog. What kind is she?

  4. Joy, what a treat--to gaze upon quail eggs among prickly pear sticks. That's better protection than a body guard. :)

Donna, we've all experienced those numbers when cooking for guests.

    1. Linda,
I checked this morning and the quail had laid two more eggs, so now there are 8 eggs. I'd have taken another picture but these 2 are on the other side of a pickly pear paddle and I couldn't get a shot of all of them together.
