It's Saturday.
I feel like fun.
I put on my shoes
and go for a run.
How do you wake up on Saturdays? What do you do? Can you write a poem about your Saturday morning?
I'm going to a Family Fun Poetry program at the Poetry Center in Tucson, AZ today. Sure wish you were here to go with me. I'm definitely going to have a great Saturday. I hope your day is fun too.
The thought just hit me that I could put on my shoes and do other things:
It is Saturday.

I put on my shoes
and then I dance.
Joy, love your poem. It inspired these:

First Saturday of Fall
Spaghetti sauce is my plan
I mash the ripe-red tomatoes
and dance the canning can-can.

Have a fun day in Tucson, twinkle toes!

Cory,
DeleteThanks for this verse. How many canning jars of tomatoes did ypu put up? Oh, I can smell the steaming tomatoes and see the yellow seeds in the red clouds. And of course, my used to be white chef's apron needs a wash. How about yours?
Joy,
DeleteYesterday it was a SMALL batch. To date, I have canned almost 60 jars, two dozen of which I made for my brother and sister. Oh! the smell of "steaming tomatoes" wafting through the whole house. Delicious! My apron is crisp, clean and ready for the next batch.
