SATURDAY

It's Saturday.
I feel like fun.
I put on my shoes
and go for a run.

How do you wake up on Saturdays?  What do you do?  Can you write a poem about your Saturday morning?
I'm going to a Family Fun Poetry program at the Poetry Center in Tucson, AZ today.  Sure wish you were here to go with me.  I'm definitely going to have a great Saturday.  I hope your day is fun too.

The thought just hit me that I could put on my shoes and do other things:

It is Saturday.
I'm ready for romance.
I put on my shoes
and then I  dance.

  1. Joy, love your poem. It inspired these:

    It's a gray Saturday
but I feel like the sun
So I put on a smile
    and beam my funshine.

    First Saturday of Fall
    Spaghetti sauce is my plan
    I mash the ripe-red tomatoes
    and dance the canning can-can.

Have a fun day in Tucson, twinkle toes!

    1. Cory,
Thanks for this verse. How many canning jars of tomatoes did ypu put up? Oh, I can smell the steaming tomatoes and see the yellow seeds in the red clouds. And of course, my used to be white chef's apron needs a wash. How about yours?

    2. Joy,
Yesterday it was a SMALL batch. To date, I have canned almost 60 jars, two dozen of which I made for my brother and sister. Oh! the smell of "steaming tomatoes" wafting through the whole house. Delicious! My apron is crisp, clean and ready for the next batch.

  2. It's Saturday
    and there's grass to mow.
    Put on my shoes.
Push and cut, to and fro.
