Jibber-Jabber
Yack, yack, yack.
You talk, talk, talk
and then sass back.
You'll never learn
when your mouth's on flow.
If you'd stop to listen
then you'd know.
Can you find some time to sit in silence today? What can you learn in your moments? Can you write a poem about what you heard? What you learned?
Poetry is music written for the human voice. Maya Angelou
Unfortunately, my mouth is sometimes on flow. True confession.
ReplyDeleteI did like that phrase, mouth on flow. I have a cousin who is a chatterbox, and my mom used to say she was born with a record needle for a tongue. Some of those old phrases are priceless.
DeleteJust went to The Music Man last night and this poem reminds me of the song "Pick a little, talk a little, pick a little, talk a little,
ReplyDeleteCheep cheep cheep, talk a lot, pick a little more..."!
Oh, I hadn't thought about that, Donna. But you are right. My brain must have been channeling Music Man.
