Seagulls call to me,
come to the shore,
come to the shore,
come to the shore.
And so I walk on the beach,
feel the sand sift through my toes
the sea salt in my hair.
I look for sea shells
and perfect, complete sand dollars.
I call to you,
come along,
come along,
come along, too.
Do you like going to the beach? What do you do? What do you see? Have you ever flown a kite on the beach? For your poetry challenge today, can you write your own poem about the beach? Have fun writing.
I enjoy being me in all kinds of weather.
Another lovely poem and lovely painting. Great stuff, Joy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rosi. Next I need to learn how to electronically edit the art. I'm so behind the curve.
DeleteI think your art class is inspiring your poetry and your art! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteThat is why I took the class. I hope I'm getting better, at least I'm learning lots.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Wistfully remembering summer. Nice poem, Joy

Words bounce so smoothly onto your blog! Thank you for sharing them and your beautiful pictures, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joan. I really enjoyed writing this one. I can hardly wait to get my move all over with so I can walk bare foot on the beach.
DeleteWhere are you moving to? I wish you much luck with all the moving and organizing that moves take!

Joan, on Dec. 15, I get on the airplane with a one-way ticket to Kauai. The cargo is shipped on the 10th. Pray for me and wish me luck.
DeleteDear Joy,
ReplyDeleteWow! It is approaching fast! I am praying for you that God grant you everything you need!
I admire you.
Love, Joan
Dear Joy, Kauai has lots of mountains and waterfalls.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the map. Whereabouts on the island will you live? Will you have internet access? Love, Joan
