Three bottle nosed dolphins
swimming in the sea.
Watch them jumping ,
one,
two,
three.
This is a counting poem for pre-schoolers. How might you use your hands to make this an action rhyme? How might three children act out this poem? Why do you think they are called bottle nosed dolphins? Can you try writing your own counting poem today? For something different you might want to try counting backwards.Have fun writing.
Being happy feels good. I will try to find things to be happy about today.
Lovely, Joy! I like how you relate poetry to the youngest readers. What a sweet, happy poem and illustration!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Violet. It does seem like I enjoy writing poems for the youngest set. I appreciate your comments on my humble drawings.
DeleteJump one,
ReplyDeleteJump two,
Jump three.
First, I saw one hand doing the three jumps.
Next try, I saw one hand, then two, then three (with a friend's help) jumping!
Stick puppet dolphins could do the jumping.
Lots of ways!
What fun!
