Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Flying Tub

I have a flying bath tub
it takes me on a trip
each time I turn the faucet on
and let the water rip.

My tub can take me
on a pirate ship,
or in an airplane's hold
flying flippy flips.

As a sub, my tub dives
deep in the ocean sea.
We can travel anywhere
my flying tub and me.

If you had a magic tub, where would you go?  To the past?  To the future?  Can you write you own magic travel poem today?  Have fun writing.

    1. Think of all the things that can fly! What happens if your soup bowl starts to sail on its own? The onion soup could travel to France, Mexican wedding soup could visit Guadalajara. Irish stew could end up in Dublin or they could all take a tour together.

  2. I'd like to go deep in the ocean to see the sea animals and coral reefs, as long as I have oxygen.

    1. Could you ride on the back of a sea star? Visit the home of a clam?
