Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

WEATHER REPORT

I sit at my desk
on work I'm toiling
Outside it's 111
Would that be boiling?

How hot is it in your part of the world?  Can you write your own poem today about the heat?
I talked to my sister yesterday and she was wearing a sweater. Her temperature was half of what mine is.
She is in Australia and it's winter time there.  Have fun working on your poem today.  Answer the question, how hot is it?  Write on!

A good children's poem can keep you warm on a cold night.

  1. A reflection on the quote here...a scary poem can chill you to the bone on a dark, hot night.

It seems the repetition of ones in 111 should bring good luck or present magical moments or something. Probably not, but its fun to think on.

    1. See, aren't the quotes at the end fun to make up your own?
I went to get a haircut today and when I drove home my car thermometer said it was 115!

  2. We have been having high 90s and low 100s the last couple of weeks. I feel your pain. 8-)

    1. Hope you are staying inside writing in the heat. I've said I like rainy days because they are perfect for writing, but these too hot to go out days are good for writing too, if I could only get my brain to cooperate.
