Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

PICKY EATERS

Mr. Goldstein
would eat no pork.
His wife would eat no beans.
Their sons ate only hot boiled stork
and green snails in baked cream.
Their daughters licked
the mixer beaters,
then told all,
"We're NOT the picky-eaters."

I'm having fun making a list of yucky foods I wouldn't want to eat.  Can you write a list poem about foods you'd like to feed to your dog?
Today I'm going to an art aloud program where I'll be able to read my poems to an audience.  Can you read your poem aloud to an audience today too?  Find a friend, or Mom or Dad and read your poem to them.  Have fun.

  1. Joy,
This reminds me of Jack Sprat from Mother Goose. Picky eaters could probably make a long list poem.:)
