Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

DESERT WALK

Taking a walk
in the desert with you
I see things differently--
a new kind of true.

The quail scurry
the rabbit hops
I don't want this walk
to ever stop.

The birds are singing
a happy tune,
I look up to see
a daylight moon.

The sky seems even
bluer than blue
when I take a walk
in the dessert with you.

Take a walk today and try writing a poem about the things you see, smell, hear and feel.  Have fun writing.

  1. Keep taking those desert walks and sharing them with us. We love it. I love the reference to the daylight moon.

  2. Thanks, Linda. It was 34 degrees on my Sunday morning walk, but still beautiful. I walked to the coffee shot for a cup of hot coffee--lovely. Wish you were here to share a cup with me.
