GEODE

A geode looks like a regular rock
until it's split in two.

Then you can see the crystals inside
sparkling for you.

How many different kinds of rocks can you name?  Can you write a poem about rocks today?  Have fun writing.

  1. We spent a few days in southern Utah last week with our grandchildren. The gift shop wasn't of much interest to them, but they went wild at the rock shop. The geodes were of great interest. Cute poem.

    1. I think I'd love hanging with your grandchildren. I always loved the rock shops too. I love polished stone, rocks, pebbles--the visual beauty and the tactile feel of rocks. It gives me a peaceful feeling of being connected to the earth when I hold a rock and always, I think about how much older the rock is than I am. Don't you wonder about the path of a rock to put it into your path and then think of all the other people from history who have probably been in the same spot with the same stone?
