Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

haiku

desert roadrunner
races across the tarmac
eating a lizard

I've seen several roadrunners lately and each one always has a lizard dangling out of his mouth.  I guess it is part of desert living.  What is something typical about your part of the world?  Can you write a poem about that today?

  1. Joy,
Loved this one. It reminded me of a parent's warning not to run with scissors in hand. I hope this weird parallel takes you on another poetry writing adventure.
