Haiku

black chin hummingbird
comes again to talk to me--
three mornings running

I'll bet you are busy today.  Can you find time to write a quick haiku, or an acrostic poem?  If that doesn't work for you, try writing a list poem and include all the emblems of the Fourth of July.  Have fun writing.

  1. I just returned from Missouri, had the pleasure of lots of hummingbirds at my brother's place, among so many other birds, too. Lovely to hear about this one, Joy. Happy Independence Day!

    1. Happy Independence Day to you too, Linda. This morning when I went outside there were two hummingbirds there waiting for me.

  2. We have lots of hummingbirds where we live. Last year we had a nest in our courtyard. It was very cool. I like your poem. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Ah, thanks, Rosi. Arizona is home to 16 different varieties of hummingbirds which is the best thing about living here. How special to have hummers nesting in your courtyard. Did you see tiny eggs?
