Bend bushes bend.
Bow to the wind.
Fall petals fall.
Wind blows it all.
Springtime breezes
fly paper kites
taking our dreams
up to new heights.
Are you ready for Memorial Day weekend? What are some of the things you see in the wind? Can you write a poem about the wind today? Have fun writing.
The Poetry Friday Round Up is hosted by Matt Forrest today over at his blog Radio, Rhythm and Rhyme.
Children's Poetry Can Make You Giggle.
Nice! Glad to see you jumped right into the challenge! Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. ;)
ReplyDeleteFollowing your lead, I've got a tanka for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the form you select for tomorrow too.
DeleteJoy,
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first stanza's repetition and the emotion in the second. Would the second one match the first stanza more? Maybe start with "Fly kites fly..." What do you think?
Happy caving!
Great suggestion Linda. It will take some fiddling to get the rhyme and meter right, but it will also help to get rid of the gerund taking. Thanks for helping me to take another look at this little poem. Isn't it the most simple poems that take the most work?
DeleteSimple isn't always easy, is it. Have fun with rhyme, meter, and any revising you decide to do.
DeleteYour poem has inspired me to write my own wind and breeze poem! (There might be a tornado in mine!)
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about putting a tomato in your wind poem?
DeleteOh, that springtime breeze is refreshing and clean today out here! I'm feeling your poem!
ReplyDeleteI love this one, but also like Linda's suggestion. This would be a fun one to play with.
ReplyDeleteJoy, I like the idea that springtime breezes take us to great heights. I am feeling the elation of springtime. I hope you join me for Spring's Symphony.
