Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

CRUMPET TEA PARTY

copyright 2015, Joy Acey

At her tea party
Little Miss Muffet
offered Miss Elephant
a taste of her crumpets.
"These are delicious,"
Miss Elephant trumpets,
"Oh what a day!"

If you were to host your own tea party, who would you invite?  What food would you serve?  What would you talk to your guests about?  Can you write a poem today about your own tea party?  Have fun making up your guest list.

There are all kinds of tea and all kinds of tea parties, I mean to enjoy a few.

  1. This is very cute. You might try submitting it to High Five magazines. The editor there is always looking for poems that could accompany hidden picture puzzles. That popped into my head when I read this.

  2. Joy,
I like your creative rainbow. What a lovely drawing! I'm glad Miss Muffett is making new friends and didn't leave town after that frightful scene with the spider character.

  3. Joy,
I've challenged my November blog post readers to send you a poem, as a get well message. I hope some do. Here's mine:

    Get well soon.
    Sooner would be better.
    And although better is good,
    Joy is the best!

    1. Oh, thank you, Linda.
I broke a bone in my wrist. I went to the orthopedist at my wrist was so swollen they couldn't put a cast on it. So I have a splint for a week while we work at getting the swelling to go down.
Of course this is my dominant hand and pain management has been a big issue. Do you know how many simple little things you do everyday that takes two hands--especially opening child-proof medicine bottles?
And of course this has really put a kink in my art classes
Thank you for you fun poem, your Good wishes, and the poetry challenge for your readers.
