Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

COME

copyright 2015, Joy Acey

Seagulls call to me,
come to the shore,
come to the shore,
come to the shore.

And so I walk on the beach,
feel the sand sift through my toes
the sea salt in my hair.
I look for sea shells
and perfect, complete sand dollars.

I call to you,
come along,
come along,
come along, too.

Do you like going to the beach?  What do you do?  What do you see?  Have you ever flown a kite on the beach?  For your poetry challenge today, can you write your own poem about the beach?  Have fun writing.

I enjoy being me in all kinds of weather.

    1. Thanks, Rosi. Next I need to learn how to electronically edit the art. I'm so behind the curve.

    1. Thanks, Joan. I really enjoyed writing this one. I can hardly wait to get my move all over with so I can walk bare foot on the beach.

I looked at the map. Whereabouts on the island will you live? Will you have internet access? Love, Joan
