Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

LEARNING TO RIDE

I lean to the left.
I tilt to the right.
Learning to ride
may cause me some fright.

I'll keep on practising.
I know I'll be great.
But first I must learn
to steer my bike straight.

Can you write your own poem today that includes a bicycle or another form of transportation?  What ever you do, have fun.  Maybe you can write about your bicycle that has special powers.  Or write about using bicycle parts to make a machine.

  1. Joy,
I'm learning to ride this summer too. That must be proof that I'm in my second childhood. My ride is a zero turn lawn mower.(the kind with the handles). I asked my son for a tutorial. He's a natural. So is my eighty-year-old mom. I'll get it!
