A poem for two voices

Voice 1                                      Voice 2

I like to blow bubbles.

                                               I'll never stop.

I like to blow bubbles.

                                               and watch them pop.

Writing poems with more than one voice, with dialog or for two voices is fun.  Wouldn't you like to try one too?  It doesn't have to be long.  as you can see, my poem only has four lines, or one rhyming couplet.
Enjoy.  Maybe you'd like to try blowing bubbles while you write your poem.

  1. Joy, this reminded me of an oldie: "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," a George and Ira Gershwin song from 1937.
    Voice 1: "You like potato..."
Voice 2: "And I like potahto."
    Voice 1: "You like tomato..."
Voice 2: "And I like tomahto."
    Voice 1: "Potato."
    Voice 2: "Potahto."
    Voice 1: "Tomato."
    Voice 2: "Tomahto."
Voice 1: "Let's call the whole thing off."
Voice 2: And go for ice cream instead.
    Voice 1: Pecan or pecon?
    Voice 2: Va--nilla!

  3. Thanks for the memories, Linda.
I took a course once on the music of Irving Berlin, the Gershwin boys and Cole Porter. It was an interesting class. The instructor was a retiree from the movie industry who wrote scripts during the day of the Big movie musicals. He had delightful stories to share with us.

    1. Joy,
I'm glad I brought back great memories with my revamping of a classic. That must have been one fantastic class.
