First Day of School

I have paper and pencils
and new crayons too.
I have a new backpack.
It's color is blue.

I have a new notebook
that I think is cool.
I think I am ready
for the first day of school.

    1. Thanks Becky. Sometimes I surprise myself too. I didn't realize I had written two poems about roasting marshmallows in less than one week. I've got to do better, but I think it is like playing the piano, as long as I practice everyday, I should get better eventually.

  2. Even as a teacher, my most fun is choosing new materials. You've said it just right, Joy!

    1. Yah, Linda. I always enjoyed picking out a new lunchbox. I want the one that is different from everyone else's.
I once went to a dance with a guy who didn't want to dance until there were several couples on the dance floor and we could just blend in--he didn't last past that date. Either you want to dance or you want to sit back and watch the party go by, me--I want to dance.

    1. Glad it stirred pleasant memories, Linda. I'm smelling the stale lunch box smell that I could never get out. Smells really are a trigger for me.
