Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

TRAVELING

I've traveled to Italy.
I've visited Rome.
The place I like best
is one I call home.

If you could travel any where, where would you go?  Can you write a poem about that today?

  1. Hi Joy,
Home offers comfort and is an expected ending to the poem. But what if you illustrate this one with something unexpected--like a tree house labeled "HOME" or even a home in outer space. What do you think?

    1. Great idea, Linda. I'm already thinking about making this a visual poem.

  2. Joy,
I hope you'll share it if you do. Sounds terrific.
