This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

The Elephant

There is an elephant
in my lunchbox.
He's eating all my food.
He never says,
Please or Thank you.
I think he's very rude.

  1. Joy,
Maybe eating all someone's food is an elephant's way of complimenting the cook. But that doesn't help the kid with the empty tummy! Where's a lunch monitor when you need one?
