SAILING

I'm sailing along
on a briny sea.
There's a lighthouse on land
in front of me.
I watch its mirrors
spinning around
to help keep my boat
from going a ground.
Here is where
I want to be,
sailing along
on a briny sea.

If you had a sail boat, where would you sail?  Who would you take along?  What would you do?  Can you write a poem about sailing today?  Have fun letting your imagination go wild (Wandering In Lovely Destinations).  Just write.

  1. Not in the desert today? Interesting change for you. Years ago my husband and I took sailing lessons. We thought we knew what we were doing and rented a sailboat out of Sausalito to sail the bay. Let's just say we still had a few things to learn, but no one was hurt, so it's just a fun memory. Maybe I will write about it. Thanks for sharing your poem.

    1. Oh, I'm still in the desert. It was 104 degrees as I wrote this poem. Oh, lucky you to be in Sausalito to go sailing. It is one of my favorite places. The coldest July I ever spent was one day in Sausalito. It was about 40 degrees and I was dressed for summer. I ended up buying an oiled navy pullover sweater. I still have it and it is almost 40 years old. Of course, I haven't worn it for a couple of years, Guess I should get rid of it.
Yes, do write about your experience. Please.
