Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Mom,
Here's a love letter
I've written for you
to honor,
respect
and cherish you.

I want you to know
I love all you do
and I will ever
echo THANK YOU.

I've got a different challenge for you today.  Can you write a LOVE LETTER to yourself telling about all the things you like and want for yourself?  Have fun writing.
When my mom was alive, every year on Mothers Day I would receive a letter from her thanking me for making her a mom.  She definitely had an attitude of gratitude.  What are you grateful for?

  1. Joy,
I have a friend who called to wish her daughters a happy Mother's Day. Her husband sent a card to his daughter. Sounds similar to your mother's actions. Sweet!

    1. I always love that in England and Canada, it is called Mothering Sunday to celebrate all the folks that do mothering duties, and of course their day is in March, not even on the same day. I'm going to have to check to see what day Australia uses.
