Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

TIME OUT

Here I sit,
won't cry,
won't pout,
while I think
about my
time out.

Have you ever had to sit in the time out chair.  I have.  My chair sat facing a corner with nothing to distract me.  The only thing I could think about was what I'd done wrong and how I was going to fix it.  Sometimes I think I still need that time out to just sit and quietly contemplate.  What do you do?  Can you write a poem today about when you need that quiet time.  Have fun.

  1. Joy,
I think we (adults) should all consider adding a time out spot for ourselves. We could rethink how to handle things better when we aren't on our best game. It could be therapeutic too. And we might even get great story ideas while sitting quietly.
