ANOTHER GHOST POEM

Little Monster
shivered in bed,
he pulled his covers
over his head.

Moans and whispers
gave him a fright,
he thought he heard
a ghost in the night.

His mother asked him,
"What's the big deal?
Ghosts who eat monsters
surely aren't real."

I thought I was done with ghost poems for a while, then I saw a picture of a kid huddled in bed afraid of the monster hiding under his bed.  I had to write the poem of the monster and the ghost.  I can see a picture book developing from this idea but first I want to finish a story about Guilda a Quail.  Things are picking up.  I hope you are keeping busy.  Can you write another ghost poem today?  If a monster and a ghost were going out together, where would they go?  What would they do?  Oh my goodness, what would happen if a monster, a ghost and an alien were all friends?  (This could start a whole new line of jokes.)  Have fun writing your poem.

Laura over at http://authoramok.blogspot.com/ is hosting the Poetry Friday Roundup.  For more great poems head on over to the party.  Thanks Laura for hosting us all.

    1. Thanks Robyn. So have you figured out a punch line for the ghost, alien and monster who walk into a bar? What did the bartender say?

    1. My mother once gave my son a spray bottle of monster killer to keep the monsters away while he was sleeping. This son is receiving a Ph.D. soon.

    1. Mary Lee, is that like a snicker--a half laugh. I'll have to try even harder.

  7. Surely you can't be done with ghost poems yet, Joy-- not with Friday the 13th this week and Halloween right around the corner? This one's really sweet. Just right for the young ones.
