Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Friends

copyright 2014, Joy Acey

My friends come in many sizes
and every shape and hue.
I do not judge them by how they look
but by the things they do.

Who is your best friend?  What does he/she look like?  What things does this person do to let you know they are your friend?  What do you and your friend do together?  Can you write a poem about this?  Have fun writing.

    1. Thank you, Linda. I like happy poems, don't you. But then, I think every child should be guaranteed a happy childhood. Your grandgirls are so lucky to have you to help make their days happy.

  2. Joy,
Another good one to pass on to some educator friends.

  3. Very nice, Joy! I can imagine this poem in a fantasy book where a child meets creatures from outer space, too. :-)

    1. Oh wouldn't that be fun. I'll have to think about your suggestion. It might make a fun collection. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
